Program changes

Every opening, pause, closure, cap and rule change we track for Canada's immigration programs. Each change is dated as the government dated it, and links to its source.

The words are the source's, and so is the accountability for them. Ours is a daily duty: each quote is re-read on its official page every day wherever the page lets an automated reader in (the rest are read by a person, and say so), and anything in doubt carries a red mark. We can make mistakes. We check every source daily and correct what we find. Always confirm with the official source before you act.

About the dates. Government dates are shown exactly as the source gives them: a date, and sometimes only a year. We never add a time the source did not state. Times appear only on changes we made ourselves, in Mountain time. When a change was announced before we recorded it, both dates are shown, so any delay is visible.

About the sources. Every change links to the government's own page, so you can check it yourself. Quotes are copied word for word from that page. A few provincial sites (New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Yukon) block automated readers, and some older pages have been moved or removed. For those we read a copy kept by the Internet Archive, a public library of web pages. Those rows link both the official page and the dated archive copy, and say which one the quote was read from.
