Privacy policy
Policy dated 2026-09-06, updated 2026-10-07 (client intakes sent to an RCIC; what leaves your device; cookies). Under legal review. Governed by Canada's PIPEDA.
The four categories
Necessary: delivering these pages, security and rate-limiting — the systems that host and protect the
service may temporarily process IP addresses, device information and request logs to do their job; this is required
to provide what you asked for.
Preferences: optional settings, like the appearance (light, dark or automatic). Once you pick an appearance it is kept in your browser and in one small cookie shared by the ahilife.ca sites, which your browser sends with each page request; it holds that one word and nothing else.
Analytics (optional): counts of pages opened, options chosen and features used, to operate, improve and
commercialize the platform; these usage events are analyzed and reported in aggregate, and stay off until you allow
them under Privacy choices. When you first answer the banner we keep one tally of that choice, with no identifier recorded (how many people chose Allow and how many chose Decline), with nothing else attached; a browser sending Do Not Track is not counted at all.
Marketing: not used — no advertising, no profiling, no cross-site tracking.
Your answers
Your questionnaire answers, free-text entries and custom personal information are worked on in your browser and are not sent to us as you answer. They are kept in your browser so you can pick up where you left off within 14 days; older saved answers are erased the next time you open the page, and starting fresh or clearing this site's data removes them at once. These things do leave your device, each only for something you ask for:
- the occupation code you enter, to look up which occupation lists name it;
- which pathway report you open, unlock or buy, and for a professional depth unlock the pathways shown on that report and its reference, so we can deliver it; for the complete Pathway Eligibility Matrix Report, the list of pathways your answers leave standing;
- if you create or use a free account: your email, the confirmation code we send you, your name and your password (we keep only a hash of it);
- an email address you give us to buy, recover a code or register interest;
- a member's saved report, which is locked with your own passphrase before it leaves;
- an intake you send to your RCIC, described below, of which we store only a locked copy we cannot read.
If you email us, we receive your address and message and use them only to respond; we do not add you to lists, and we never sell or share your information.
Client intakes sent to an RCIC
When a licensed consultant (RCIC) invites you to fill in an intake, your answers are locked on your device; AHI stores only the locked copy, which only your RCIC can open. We cannot read it, and neither can anyone else at AHI.
- Until you send, your answers stay in your browser on your device. Once your intake is sent, they are erased from it.
- The locked copy is deleted from AHI Life 30 days after your RCIC first opens it, or 60 days after it arrived if they have not opened it (we remind them once, at 45 days, with no details about you).
- If your RCIC asks us to email you the link and one-time code, your email address is used once, to send that email through our email provider. We do not store it or record it in our logs.
- Without your answers, we keep what is needed to run the invite: its reference, the kit and pathway, its dates (created, opened, sent), the RCIC's own short note on it, and a count of intakes each RCIC receives per month. RCICs are asked to write initials or a file number in that note, not a name, and the desk warns them when a note looks like a name.
- If you send your intake in parts ("Send what I have so far"), each part replaces the last, and your RCIC sees how far along you are: the percentage of questions answered and when you last sent. That figure is readable on our server; your answers are not.
- Once your RCIC opens your intake, they hold it under their licence's confidentiality duties.
Providers and retention
Pages are delivered by our hosting provider, whose systems process technical logs to serve and protect the site; we use no third-party analytics or advertising services. Usage counters are kept as running totals, with day-by-day detail kept 120 days. Aggregate insights — never about an identifiable person — may inform our paid products and reports.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies, and a visitor who only answers the questions gets none. Each cookie below is set only by something you do, holds no answers, and is limited to keeping that one thing working:
ahi_appearance: your appearance choice, once you pick one; shared by the ahilife.ca sites; one year.ahi_member_sess: your sign-in, if you create or use a free member account; until you sign out or it expires.ahi_sso: set by AHI Life Signals when you sign in there, so the same account works on this site.ahi_minv_…: access to an app you were invited to, after you open the invitation link; 30 days.ahi_review: a review link we send to a named reviewer; 8 hours.ahi_desk_sess: the sign-in for our own staff desk.
Optional analytics use no cookie and stay off until you allow them under Privacy choices on the tool page.
Your rights under PIPEDA
Ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and withdraw consent at any time — through Privacy choices on the tool page, or by writing to info@ahilife.ca, our designated privacy contact. A human answers, and there is no charge.
